July Birchbox

Last week I received my July Birchbox. Birchbox is a monthly beauty box subscription which sends you samples from well known brands.

This month is all to do with Summer as Birchbox have given our samples which are supposed to help you get through the hottest season of the year!
As usual, Birchbox have added in some fun cards with tips and tricks on them. The cards give you summer hacks as well as telling you how you can spend your Birchbox points in the Birchbox shop.

My box this month contains 5 samples plus a lifestyle extra! All of the beauty samples are available to buy at the Birchbox shop.

  • Vita Coco Natural Coconut Water in Lemonade - £2.29 for the full carton.

This is the lifestyle extra and is a hydrating drink bursting with natural potassium to keep you energized throughout the day.

  • Gilchrist & Soames English Spa Sea Kelp Extract Mineral Bath - £11.25 for the full size product.

This is a foamy gel which contains marine nutrient sea kelp to invigorate the skin.

  • Whish Three Wishes Lavender Body Butter - £14.50 for the full size product.

This body butter is a sweet-scented antioxidant-rich body lotion which nourishes the skin (what a mouthful/typeful!).

  • Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream - £20 for the full size cream.
This eye cream has a light, hardworking formula which brightens the eye area and keeps the wrinkles at bay. You only need to use a rice-grain-sized amount of the cream for each eye; so although it is a small sample it should last.

  • Welede Millet Nourishing Shampoo - £8.95 for the full size.
This natural and organic shampoo keeps hair in top-notch condition for the summer.

  • Laqa & Co. Sheer Lip Lube Pencil in Menatour - £14 for the full size lip product.
This is a high gloss, thick lip pencil which adds a pop of sheer colour to your lips.

And that's what appeared in this months box! I'm most excited about using the eye cream as I'm not currently using one at the moment and was looking for one. I'm least excited about the lip pencil as it is a bright purple colour which I would never wear. I'm really disappointing with this product as the packaging is a bit tacky and the colours are supposed to be 'wearable'. However this product does smell of mint which is quite nice.
I'm also slightly disappointed with the coconut water as I don't like coconut and a carton of juice isn't really what I expected from a beauty box?!

Overall, I'm not very pleased with this box as I know how good the Birchbox boxes can be and how far from it this box is. Birchbox has definitely seen better months and I am hoping next months box will live up to its potential.
